A few months ago Particle Tree began pre-loading their comment box with “Everyone needs a hug.” This week I stumbled across an explanation in Stanford’s Captology blog. It seems that those four little words can slow flames, for now.

What little things do you do that effect outcomes? How often do you take a fresh look?

There’s a story in my family of a long-gone aunt who’d advise “Look in the mirror every morning and say ‘well, ain’t I somethin!’ Don’t wait for someone else to get around to it.”

The same could be said for re-assessing a GUI, stepping forward bravely displaying one’s newly polished USP, or something as easy and important as offering a sincere “thank you.”
