This week one of the original co-founders of Cre8asiteforums, Ammon Johns, was able to stop in and spent some time helping members with questions on web site design and SEO. In one of his responses, he wrote,
SEO is a journey, not a destination. Moving forwards puts you on that journey. But you are only in front if you are leading the pack, and putting in at least as much speed as your rivals. You only get to catch up from the back of the pack by either taking the routes they thought unprofitable (niche market) or by traveling faster on that journey (applying more resources to your SEO efforts each week/month than the rivals do).
Cre8asite Forums Threads
Here are some of our favorite threads of this week.
There’s a wild-card element to Google’s results in that someone without funding can be so compelling that they work their way to the top simply on the merit of their own, self-created content. I’ve seen this happen elsewhere, obviously not in money markets like mortgages or something like that, but in niche scenarios. I believe it can still be done, getting those links and rankings where the person trying to win them is also the person creating the content. The proposition becomes more costly when the person trying to win is NOT the content creator and has to hire someone.
After the advent of latest SEO techniques like the LSI (Latent Symentec Indexing) & specially the VEO (Visitor Enhanced Optimization) SEO is becoming the game of writers. So we can say that the writing skill is a mandatory part for true SEO professionals today?

- The Key Ingredient for SEO and Web Design is True Passion
All these years later and many still think that it’s the link that matters. It’s not. What has always mattered is content. People don’t get passionate over links or even anchor text. They react to content.
A thought provoking, inspirational post by Miriam Ellis had people talking early this week – Links And Better Things Come When People Care
Ammon Johns wrote,
SEO is an up-front investment. I always tell clients that if SEM were locating your business on a busy high-street with plenty of walk-by customers, then PPC is like renting the property, while SEO is like building your own premises. Its a bigger investment, but in the long term is cheaper because you own it. But PPC is the one where you can spend a little knowing exactly what margins you have to work with, and be sure to get something back for a small investment.
