well i think that people are changing from social networks. for example, i use the social networking site http://www.zovue.com not only for networking but because i can access the shopping network and upload my advertisements.

i actually talk less directly to my customers, if they have any questions, i direct them to the help videos on my profile, or i chat with them through the instant messenger.

so...what has really changed for me...is that my vocal chords are actually working at half the capacity, before social networks.

Now that is a real change....not just a change in awareness.

I agree with your discussion that technology forces social change, but at the same time I believe that technology is the result of social change. In other word, technology informs and is informed by society.

I think that any time you pay attention to an isssue, it makes it harder for people to turn a blind eye.

The more the news gets out on a particular issue or injustice the harder it is for people to claim or fain ignorance.

The idea presented in the post, that even if people are made aware of issues most of them will not take action to change the situation is a good point.

However if we consider that 1 in 1,000 people who hear about an injustice will be moved to act, then change is a matter of helping another thousand hear the message.

It had really made great changes in the way we use to meet our friends physically today we just prefer to meet 'em at some social network. That had really helped people to meet in an easy way but it had also created kind of distance like people use to meet their friends at weekends now we rarely think about it so it had also created some differences.

In my opinion social media today is a pure mess: it has become a collection of countless websites and applications fighting for a piece of the pie.
