I’ve loved bookmarklets as a means of adding extra functionality and tools to my browsers ever since I first discovered them some years ago. I even created a few for a portal client a couple of years back. Well, I’ve just created a few more.
The set of Propellernet bookmarklets for SEM/SEO use are a handy set of resources that can save you time (and typing) again and again each day. Go and check them out if SEO is an interest and saving time and energy is a desire.
There’s one other bookmarklet that is very handy for those involved in SEO, or indeed in any other aspect of the web - the Cre8asiteForum Search bookmarklet, which I use almost every day at some time or other.
IE version- Cre8asite Forums: Search
Mozilla version - Cre8asite Forums: Search
To take this dynamic shortcut to the search results at the Cre8asite Forums with you always, just add the link to your favourites. If your browser warns you that the link might not be safe, it is simply detecting that it is JavaScript and that you should be aware of that. It is perfectly safe. To use it, just highlight any text on a page and select the bookmarklet from your favourites (it opens a new window, so you won’t lose the page you were on).
Alternately, if you don’t want to search for any forum posts related to a word on a page, just click the bookmarklet without highlighting anything, and it will prompt you for your search words. It is that simple. One bookmarklet but two functions.
Enjoy.

Since as you have said elsewhere, the Google link: search is “broke”, it is great to get your Yahoo! backlinks bookmarklet. There were others that I’ve also installed. They’re a great help. Thanks for these.

You know something, it doesn’t work on Apple’s Safari browser. Works on IE for Mac though.

There’ll be some new code versions going up for other browsers as soon as I can get the browser detection correct to serve the right code to each browser.

Okay, since you brought it up, I’ve simply made both the IE and Mozilla versions equally available, and allowed the user themselves to choose which they need.
I’ll do the browser detection delivery at a later time to prevent errors in selection.

Excellent. I didn’t even ask for it. All I did was bring it up.

Isn’t that how good marketing should be though? Under-promise and Over-deliver.

Thats for a different blog, but yes your right. Leads to great customer referrals. I think you kind of related that to unreciprocated links.

Darn. Works fine on Firefox, which is generally one of the pickier of the Mozilla-based browsers so was sure I had it sussed.
I’ll email you, Barry. Thanks.
