Engagability in the Forums; the How, the What, the Why, the Where

It’s been a while since I’ve last been seen posting here.

As the rolly-polly-round mascot of Cre8asite and the hero of this here blog, I guess I need to explain my prolonged absence.

Have you seen the trailers for the new comedy that is rocking the United States this last week – Dodgeball? Maybe you saw me there. I’m one of the stunt doubles on the picture.

After much bouncing, and strenuous activity, I’m ready for some more sedate activities like reporting on some of the recent threads at the forums.

My Favorite Current Forum Threads

Yo, Peabody here again.
Strikes me that with the weather so nice, it’s time for some housecleaning.
I live in the forums, mind you.
So, while dusting around here, I kept popping up in the middle of active threads and getting nearly run over by good ideas.
Thought I might share some of the more exciting threads I found.

Starting off with a debate about Adwords and company names. “I know nothing about the legalities of this, but hate to think this other company is making money by catching unwary visitors looking for us … almost seems like they’re trying to make money off our reputation.”

Ahhh, spring.

Well, well, well. It’s a lovely spring day, or so I’m told, and it looks like the Americans among us have survived tax day again. (Dragonlady7 was grumbling that by the time she got to the post office, all the stamps they had left said “I Love You” on them. How nice, a love letter to the IRS.) Ahh, spring, when a young forum mascot’s thoughts turn to… hyperlinks. What better time to go blogrolling?

For those of us who are literally round, there’s more actual rolling involved in that than for the rest of you. I thought I’d trace out some of my blog-perambulations for the rest of you to follow if you can. (Sometimes I bounce more than roll.)

Ammon Johns, Blog Virgin No More

A little background: I live in the Cre8asite network so I spend a lot of time watching the mods behind the scenes. They’ve got the best dirt, see. I’ve learned all kinds of stuff back there, that my mom never told me about. (Ask James about plums.)

And it turns out that Ammon Johns’s blog posting on the Cre8asite blog is his first blog post. Ever. Not just here– ever.
I think that’s pretty notable, given how long he’s been making noise online. (I’ll get back to him at the end of this post. Heh heh.)

When Toolbars Attack

OK, OK, I’m back. They’ve been making improvements to this blog for a while now and I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that they’re still not giving me hands or a mouth.

So anyway, this morning I’d sort of rolled off the desk when I heard my email notification sound go. I managed to get back to the computer, and it was from Google’s Adsense team. Changes in their TOS– wait, didn’t they just do that?

So I went to my web browser to check out the new TOS.
Hmmmm….

Wow. My Own Blog!

image
Yes. It’s true. Not only have they taken that ugly “Beta” tag off of my Web Resources Library, they went and turned it all orange. Spent all of Monday down at the Social Services office adopting a new family member who would match up with the new color scheme! Then, on Tuesday, they tell me I’ve got to take time out of my busy schedule of greeting folks in the library to make regular posts here in this blog. If you’ve never tried typing without arms or a nose, you really can’t appreciate the effort this is going to take.
