As I interview and touch base with Industry favorites like Rae Hoffman, and showcase Cre8asiteforums Moderators this month, I’ve begun to mix together old friends and create a reunion of sorts.
While I polish up some of the upcoming Industry interviews, I’d like you to meet some wonderful people from the Cre8tive Community, in our continuing Moderator, Member, Industry Interviews: 6th Anniv Celebration Series.

While I’ve been interviewing people of interest in the industries covered by Cre8asiteforums, I’ve also dragged forums Moderators and Site Admins to the interview process. In our continuing month-long celebration of our 6th Anniversary, I’d like to present several of the Moderators.

It was the switch from long continuous hours to semi-retirement that encouraged me to join Cre8. More ‘family and friends about the kitchen table’ discussing subjects of mutual interest than business meeting or conference. And gaining new perspectives. The depth of knowledge, in Cre8’s archives and members, is comparable to most other fora but the community is ‘nicer’, for lack of a better word.

I can’t remember when I first came across “Sugarrae” but I do remember meeting her and having an insanely embarrassing dialog about hair color. Canadian-based Internet Consultant, Rae Hoffman, has been helping web sites and businesses with search engine marketing for over 10 years. Her articles and popular blog have made her a top industry favorite. When she investigates a web site or application, she leaves no stone unturned.
She’s faced personal hardships and used them to motivate her to work hard and build good businesses. While some folks may find her toughness hard to take, I’ve long admired her wit, drive and personal courage.
During our 6th year anniversary this month, Cre8asiteforums has been out getting to know persons of interest in the industries we cover and from our forums membership. Some people stand out at Cre8asiteforums for their loyalty and dedication to helping others. One such person is Yura Filimonov.
We’d like to introduce him to you:
Forum questions
1. If you can remember, how did you first learn about Cre8asiteforums?
I don’t exactly recall the moment, but I do know I’ve been searching for answers on some problem (possibly, hyphens vs underscores) and either arrived to the forums from Google or from another forum or article (there were few blogs at the time, ‘04), where the forums were mentioned.

We’re having a party!
Cre8asiteforums celebrates its 6th year anniversary this month with a month long series of interviews, games, reunions, and the launch of new forums. Kim Krause Berg is interviewing Cre8tive Community members, industry folks and forums Moderators.
Are We 6 or 10?
Technically, if you’re Kim Krause Berg, we’re 10 years old. This is how long I’ve been at the wheel. Cre8asiteforums began as the Cre8pc Website Promotion Club, back in 1998, in Egroups. Egroups was acquired by Yahoo! and changed into Yahoo! Clubs.
In the past, Cre8asiteforums accepted paid advertisements on static pages and inside the forums. We contributed our funds to SEO contest prizes, several educational and internship scholarships and to help in emergency situations for people in the industry who have required medical assistance for tragic situations.
Ad sales stopped because there was no one on staff available to handle the job. Kim Krause Berg, Founder and Administrator, is relaunching ad revenue generation so that Cre8asiteforums can again contribute and sponsor educational events and opportunities in the industries covered by the forums.

My pet peeve about some news web sites is that sometimes they only offer the story in video format, with no text alternative. To watch it, I have to include the extra time to watch the TV commercial they start off with. This ordeal resembles movie trailers we sit through before the actual feature movie begins.
Some TV shows offer past episodes online. This allows TV viewers to play catch up on their favorites by letting them view shows on their laptops. It’s very handy and affords viewers the choice of when and where to watch the TV shows they love.
