One of the most common complaints - or rather, comments - I hear about the Cre8asite Resource Library is that folks just don’t get it. The common reaction is that its just another directory like the thousands of other ones that are scattered all over the World Wide Web. Yet, when one goes to submit to our directory, the submission process is more complicated than those others that it is “just one of.” Why, then, is it worth your time to learn a completely new and unique submission process when, in the same amount of time, you can submit to 3 or 4 other directories?

What’s That Buzz? (Tell Me What’s A Happening)
In my ever growing obsession with all that is XML, I often find myself going back over old ground and finding neat and new gems hidden within. Today, of course, was no exception - otherwise, I wouldn’t be here right now, would I?
Back when I had my big old movie database site, I used to keep an eye on the Yahoo Buzz Index quite regularly. This is a section on Yahoo that has daily updates of the “Hot Search Topics” from the Yahoo Search engine. Though, it is definitely geared toward people who have sites dealing with home entertainment, music, sports, TV, movies, and the like, it can still give people some insight into various trends that are going on.

As you folks probably noticed, we’ve got Barry “Rustybrick” Schwartz stopping in over here from time to time to let him know what’s going on in the Search Engine World based upon what has been happening over at his SERoundtable Blog.
In the same vein, I will be popping over there on occassion and letting his visitors learn about various things going on in the Cre8asite Network in respects to our SEO discussions. And, if you POP over there now, you’ll see my first blog entry - a posting about the most excellent New in DMOZ thread at Cre8asite Forums. If you’ve ever wanted to learn about just what goes on in the mind of a DMOZ editor as they go about their life, that thread is invaluable.
Of Mice and MSN (and AOL and JFK)
Was just over reading at Jill’s place and several threads were all clustered together on the “What’s New Since Last Visit” listing. The first was the news that it seems that there’s a clause in AOL’s 2002 contract with Google that entitles them to first rights on about 1.9 million shares of Google should they decide to go public. True, there’s not a lot there that is very interesting, deals like this happen all the time.
