Over at SEOmoz, Rand Fishkin and Matt Inman have come up with a interesting new way to measure the visibility of a page on the web, and its ability to rank well in search engines.
Their Page Strength SEO Tool measures and considers a number of different metrics to come up with a value for a specific page. I tried it for Cre8asite Forums, and received the following result:

It collects a nice set of information about a page. If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth a look.

Thread pick: Free Web Design Tools
Fave rave lists can be priceless. I open them and think, “What was the name of that cool ruler thingy? What free web site editors really work?”
In March of 2005 Graphics4Me asked, “What programs do you use?” That question kicked off a big list of dozens of goodies, paid and free, big and little.
Yesterday limey started a new thread, Free Web Design Tools. Favorite, free web design related programs are being added to this thread by members in the know.
Check out both lists. Nominate your finds and learn what others are using. Your buffet awaits.

Cre8asiteforums member Bob Mutch first shared his Rating System for Inbound Link Quality with our community when it was hot off the presses of ABAKUS SEO Blog in late March. Now he’s released “ILQ” to the world through PRWeb:
This new rating system, called ILQ (Inbound Link Quality), is not easily manipulated or artificially inflated through purchased links…
Because of the huge increase in the buying and selling of text link ads, search engines are giving more ranking weight to trusted sites. This is why it is important for Websites to gain links from high ILQ-rated sites and makes the ILQ rating system an important gauge when considering link placements.

Trying to make a living can mean that forum members balance between supportive learning and giving away the farm. Fence-sitting is only a beginning. Healthy exchange of ideas about member tools and tutorials is one demonstration of how the Cre8asite Forums community works to deepen knowledge and broaden connections.
eKstreme agrees:
Tools like these are all about communities. Even if there was only one person actually writing code, the ideas that shape the development and inception, the testing, the feedback from users, etc., are all community based. If you are involved in a community like Cre8asite Forums, promoting tools created by other community members is the way forward. It fosters community feeling and makes you new friends.

Once in a while I see tips and tools created by Cre8asiteforum members. Here are four, listed in alphabetical order by the name of the tool.
Back Link Analyzer

Cre8asite Forum’s techical administrator has been showing his incredibly helpful and knowledgeable understanding of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and PHP recently.
He’s developed a couple of cheat sheets to make it easier for you to use both CSS and PHP. These are some wonderful resources, and I recommend that you stop by his site, and check them out.

These would make great posters.
