Look at how Facebook Beacon turned out. People balked about their privacy and they didn't want in their face ads. But for those who wanted it, is that what we've come down to - profit from our friends? In principle it sounds good, it's "word of mouth" but how many people will use that as an excuse and exploit their friends?
