Cre8asite Forums welcomes two new moderators, Donna Fontenot (dazzlindonna) and Miriam Ellis (SEOigloo.)

Donna will be helping with two forums - SEO and Social Media. Miriam is starting out in the SEO forum and may later be adding our Nonprofits forum to her responsibilities.

Both are owners of well-respected blogs with an active community of fans and friends. In her blog SEO Igloo, Miriam has just rounded up a series of five interviews with experts on the evolving area of Local Search. Donna owns the delightful SEO Scoop, where she recently announced reinventing herself as an eBusiness Coach via her new site ebuzzcoach.com.

Cre8tive Flow’s New Design

First, I want to make some comments on the reasoning behind this redesign. It’s not that there was particularly anything wrong with the old design — except that Wordpress is a far more sophisticated product now than it was when that site was designed, and we wanted to be able to take advantage of newer and improved features. With this new layout, we’re making use of “widgetized” space to create a more flexible and (hopefully) intuitive blog for Cre8asite Forums.

Thanks to Adrian for his work on the previous design!

As if his fiance, Geraldine, hasn’t had to pinch herself already after being asked to marry Rand in front of half the planet, she now gets to faint for Oprah. Well…that’s what I would do. She’s much braver than I am.

Well-known SEO, Rand Fishkin, of SEOMoz.org and his lovely Geraldine, fly out soon for a taping of the Oprah Winfrey show. The topic? LOVE. It’ll air on Valentine’s Day.

Wedding plans are in full swing for these two. Can’t imagine how Rand is going to top this!

As part of our ongoing look at the world around us and our contributions to it as web site developers, a new topic was started in Cre8asiteforums called In What Ways Can You Contribute To A World Of “Better Websites For A Better World”?

We’d like to explore your impressions and thoughts on what you’ve learned over the years. Do you think that your company is interested in contributing something positive to the world with its products or services?

Is there talk of being more consciously aware in development and if so, how/where/where/what/why?

Cre8asiteforums Introduces New Future Internet Technologies Forum

In keeping with our passion for “Building Better Web Sites Together, For A Better World”, Cre8asiteforums has launched its second new forum today. This one is called Cre8tive Tomorrow and is sure to be “geek heaven”.

Our moderator, Pierre Far, leads the way on this journey. He writes,

Only a few short years ago, very few people have heard of AJAX and the promise it brought with it. In the time between its inception and wide-spread adoption, we saw many great failures and many great examples of how to implement AJAX. It seems that the trajectory AJAX followed was filled with more trials and errors than simple successes.

Cre8asiteforums Launches Non-Profit Forum

The first of several new projects for 2008 has begun at Cre8asiteforums. Our new tagline, posted late last year, is “Building Better Web Sites Together, For A Better World”. While most online forums in the search engine marketing and web development space are focused on support and teaching, we decided to take it up a notch to explore “Why” our roles and practices are important.

Today, Bill Slawski starts off with one of our new forums. This one will explore non-profits. We want to learn how they market themselves. What issues do they face in search engines, marketing, branding, competition, credibility? What is a non-profit site? Where do site owners network? Are there usability concerns unique to non-profit design vs profit?

Getting Work By Approaching Web Sites That Suck

Filed under Business & Marketing by Kim Krause Berg on January 3, 2008

An interesting discussion at Cre8asiteforums on the ethics of finding work offers some food for thought and varied opinions. Fishing For Work begins with someone’s frustration over the thousands of web sites he finds that are “awful”. He wants to contact them and offer his services.

Is this a good way to do business?

Is it ethical to approach companies without an invitation to solicit web design work because you don’t like how their web site looks or performs?
